"No wonder she was so dour before!" you may think as you get deeper into the book. She begins getting tattoos as a way of dealing with her pain. Each tattoo has deep meaning for her and she regards them with great reverence. Her grandmother doesn't understand why she is doing this to her beautiful body, so she promises her next tattoo will be the last one. It is her largest one, covering her whole back, her tattoo artist's Magnum Opus. But this story is no mere tale of a hard life for a woman rebelling with tattoos and struggling with her inner demons.
Reverence gets even more interesting after that point, and the twists and turns this story took caught me completely by surprise, the way a good book should. I must say that I never would have guessed where the story was going. It was an exciting and captivating drama. I won't spoil it for you but let it suffice to say I was thinking about this book for days afterward and I can't wait to read the next in the series!

The Reverence Trilogy is definitely for those wanting action, suspense, and great story line. Having loved science fiction for many decades, I have built up high expectations for any new works coming out by various writers. This series will not disappoint!! The background story, the journey of the main character and the non-stop action kept me mesmerized the entire time I was reading.
I give the Reverence trilogy my strongest recommendation. It definitely left me excited about the continued exploits of the main character, Revere, her unique powers and how she will ultimately bring justice and reverence to her world!
If you like graphic novels, this read is AWESOME! If you don't, why not? Squishing so much action/story lines into one book is impossible, thank god there are 2 more novels. If you're looking for a different type of hero this novel is for you. Tattoos that have life like personalities couple with super natural powers, amazeballs! "Tattoos - Uruz and Algiz," genius! For years we've been asking ourselves what took someone this long to write a novel with this much passion, incredible story line, but we're glad it's here. Don't wait to long after finishing this read to start Volume 2. The story and action just gets better. Can't wait to meet the author who from what I see / hear still attends many comic and wizard cons across the country. My only question is, when is the movie coming out?
I don't usually enjoy raining on parades, but I felt the need to counter the inexplicably high reviews of this terrible book. My girlfriend picked up all three in the series at a convention after speaking with the author for a bit, without having actually looked past the cover. She was confused the next day when I picked them up off the counter at home and started laughing uncontrollably. To put it bluntly, the writing in this series is approximately middle school level, and the illustrations are straight out of an angsty high schooler's Deviant Art page. The plot is not gripping or original by any means. By the end of the series the author includes some of her own drawings in the book, either out of a mistaken belief that she can draw well (she can't) or because she simply could no longer pay any artist enough to be associated with this project.
Vanity publishing at its worst, easily makes the top five in my "worst things I've read" list (coming from a voracious reader). Internal emotions status a mixture of amusement, embarassment and despair.
The end of the story is where it shines brighter as the heroine finds her inner strengths and magic. It became more interesting because the character was growing more as a person but in the beginning she was more or less whining about her life and her dad. Near the end became better because even though she complained she started doing something to change her world. Whether what she did was right or wrong is not for me to decide. I am there to be entertained by her choices and I was.
I did start this and then had to put it down for a while because I wasn't enjoying it. I picked it back up and the beginning is slow but worth it in the end. I would read the rest the series when comes out.
Reverence was very addicting and absorbing. It sucked me right into the story! I couldn't put the book down! I read it from cover to cover in one sitting. I eagerly await the next book so, I again, can be trasformed into Sandra's world/life.
The author spins a great tale that I could not put down once I started reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish and shared it with my friends. It was agreed by all to be a very entertaining way to spend an evening. Do not pass up the chance to read this gem!
